It's been awhile since we've posted...sorry for the delay. Addie's been more than a handful lately, and now is on the cusp of walking. When she crawls...she flies. We can only imagine what we have in store. Here are a few pics from our recent trip to Busch Gardens and visits with Bubbie and in Tennessee, with Pappy.

Here's the girl in full-on mobile mode. She's been having a lot of fun crawling all over the house, moving from one end to the other in a matter of minutes, which makes it much easier for her to chase the animals (this one's not likely to be afraid of dogs or cats). She's also on the cusp of walking - there's lots of pulling up.

Adeline reached an exciting milestone this weekend - she took her first official crawl! And she's been practicing ever since. She's officially mobile now. She's also now pulling up and standing virtually on her own. We suspect it won't be long until the crawling ends and the walking begins. She's also saying "ma ma ma" and "da da da" constantly now, but it's not clear that she knows what that means. Nonetheless, we love it. Enjoy these recent pics of the girl.

With Michael's graduation in December, we were finally able to take a long-overdue vacation. We spent a week in Puerto Rico - Adeline's first trip on an airplane (she did amazingly well, charming just about everyone who set foot on board). In Puerto Rico we hiked in a mountain rainforest, explored the old city of San Juan (getting caught in a deluge twice), walked through tunnels at the old Spanish fort of El Morro, lounged on the beach, hung out by the pool beneath a canopy of palm trees, and walked through a mangrove swamp. A fantastic trip for all of us. Here are just a few pictures from a great week.

Graduation weekend

Make no mistake - Michael graduated, but it was Addie who was the star of the show last weekend. As well it should be. She had all of her grandparents around to dote on her, AND it was Channukah - so she raked it in from Bubbie. She was just awesome at the graduation ceremony itself - didn't hear a peep out of her, and she was all smiles afterwards. A very fun weekend all around.

Thanksgiving

Adeline's first Thanksgiving was a big hit - well, we should say, SHE was a big hit! Everyone in Big Stone Gap absolutely loved her, and she got to meet her cousins - Xander, Indigo and Phoenix - for the first time. And they were such great big cousins to her! She also got her first taste of peas on this trip. She was skeptical at first, but has since warmed to the idea. She's on to all sorts of other yummy veggies already. She's picking up this whole eating thing fast. Enjoy the pics!

Some pics from a recent trip to the pumpkin patch - because what's cuter than a baby and some pumpkins? ...and a few other pics from the last couple of weeks. She grows and grows....it's unbelievable! There's A LOT of "talking" going on right now, along with a teradactyl-like screech, which is unpleasant, to put it tactfully. We even started her on some rice cereal this weekend, which she loves. But it's unclear whether she loves IT, or loves making a huge, huge mess.

It's been forever since we've last posted - but here you go at last. Adeline is now smiling and giggling, and is an absolute joy! She's in daycare full-time during the week and seems to be doing great. The teachers there say she's an easy baby, and mom and dad are thrilled to know that she's well taken care of. We had our first week of daycare - and it was a success! Both Jen and Michael are back to work, and Addie is getting used to hanging out for the day without us. She's doing great. We've got Pappy in town for the week helping out, and next week it's Bubbie - followed by Aunt Jenny. Good fun ahead. Enjoy the latest video!

Adeline continues to amaze us. We've now taken two trips with her - one to Tennessee to visit Pappy, and another to Maryland to visit her Bubbie. So far, so good. She's getting more and more interactive. Here's a video we shot the other day of her enjoying some swing action.

Adeline's first Fourth

Our first trip with the little girl went great - just a lot of gear, and a longer than expected ride. But all things considered, it went very smoothly. She slept most of the way to Tennessee and back, with only a few crying spells. But mostly she was just curious. She's looking around a ton and has even started to smile - melting our hearts. The latest doctor visit was today and she's doing great - weighing in at 8 lbs., 13 oz. - she's gaining ample weight! The visit with Pappy was fun and the Boggses got to meet Addie for the first time - and, you won't be surprised to hear that they loved her. She also met her grandmother's reunion group from Holy Trinity, who unanimously agreed that she is, quite simply, the most adorable little baby ever. Enjoy these latest pics!

Getting cheekier

Week three, and going onto week 4, the little girl just keeps getting cheekier and sweeter. Lots of visitors (Aunts Lisa and Jenny, Uncle Eli and Grandpa and Sandra), lots of stimulation, and lots of crying! It's been a whirlwind, crazy fun, sleep-deprived couple of weeks. Michael headed back to work, and even took a trip out of town, so mommy has been amazing at learning Adeline's daily patterns. It's all still a work in progress. Enjoy the pics!

Getting acquainted

We're starting to figure this thing out - parenthood, life in this world - all that good stuff. Adeline is settling in well to her new home, with Dorey and Miso keeping a watchful eye on her. We've had lots of visitors and she's met lots of new people. Her Pappy took extra good care of her this week; next up is Bubbie and Aunt Jenny, and Aunts Lisa and Jenny next week. Enjoy the pics!

So we got home from the hospital on Thursday afternoon to a living room filled with shattered glass - courtesy of our other girl, Dorey, who finally broke through the front window in her never-ending pursuit of the mailman! All, however, was perfectly fine. She didn't escape - she was just spooked. And our homecoming was perfect. The animals - Dorey and Miso - have taken to Adeline just fine. Dorey sits watch while Jen feeds Adeline, and Miso has started trying to figure out who this new creature in the house is. Mom is doing great, and both mom and dad are a bit sleep deprived, but that's to be expected. So far so good - come visit if you haven't already!

Meet our new gorgeous daughter, Adeline Patricia - born at 1:09 a.m. on 6/2/09, weighing in at 6 lbs., 9 oz. Mom is doing great, and dad, not so bad either. Both are pretty overwhelmed, amazed and thrilled beyond words! More to come....

These are the latest - and final - ultrasound images of Willis Wallace before we get to meet him or her sometime next week! Jen's at 38-1/2 weeks, and the baby is weighing in at 8 lbs., 1 oz. - healthy and kicking like a champ. It's not long now!

A hearty THANK YOU goes out to Katherine, Virginia, Janelle, Sue B and Mom for hosting two fantastic showers these past two weekends! Our camera is on the fritz, so we have a serious lack of quality pictures to share. But these came out relatively in-focus. We're now in the baby window - we'll keep you all posted on the big arrival. We're guessing it will be on-time, no delays - check back around June 8 for more details. Thanks again for all your well-wishes and support!

30 weeks

We got our fourth ultrasound today at 30-1/2 weeks. Willis Wallace is becoming more human-like as we speak! Check out the face - Michael suspects the poor kid is inheriting his big nose. But those cheeks are unmistakably Jen's. The little one is weighing in at 3 lbs., 15 oz. (66th percentile - right on track and literally at the center of the "typical" or "normal" range for this point in the pregnancy) and is in just the right position for delivery (head down). He/she is kicking up a storm. Just eight more weeks until we meet the little friend....stay tuned.
